Abby and Quincy Shoneman -
Youth Division - Class 34 - 'Train Travel'

Abby Shoneman - First Place, Bronze medal
Abby took the train to Africa and the pincushion protea were the lions on the Circus Train....Papa, Mama, Big brother, little sister, twins and the naughty one jumping out the back! She loved to bend the equisetum which were the bars on the train. The Safari Sunset (Leudadendron) seemed an appropriate flower for the "trip" and she loved the idea that it was a sunset.

Quincy Shoneman - First Place, Silver medal
Quincy wanted to take the train to the "beach" and he, too, loved wiring and bending the equisetum into shapes like...the cloud, the lifeguard chair and the lounge chair. The parakeet heliconia were the seagulls and the Craspedia (yellow Billy's Buttons) represented the sun! He and his grandmother (Thelma) had a lot of fun imagining.

Laura Lindop -
