Thelma Shoneman and Wendy Tarson interrupted a piece built by one of the best-known cabinetmakers in early 19th century Philadelphia, Anthony Quervelle, American, 1830. This desk and bookcase boldly combines French and English design. Anthony Quervelle's impressive artistry is evident in the carving, veneering, gilding, and inlay work.
