December 6   Holiday Holiday Greens Workshop Decorate the Doors (Members Only Program)
    Bring your pruners, and a selection of small greens from your yard to create a wreath on an 8½" oasis ring. It is perfect for a centerpiece with a candle, with a bowl of cranberries, for an advent wreath or to hang on your door. Boxwood, Chamaecyparis, Juniper, Holly, berries and small cones are suggested. If you have extra greens, bring them to share. Cost: $5.00 per oasis ring.

Joan and Jana are principals of “Enchanted Gardens”, a landscape design firm that creates unique gardens for clients in Metrowest Boston. Their spring ephemeral program illustrates perennials such as Bloodroot, Jeffersonia, and Epimediums. Learn about their habitats and see how they can be the stars of your spring garden.

with Claudia Thompson Ms. Thompson is the President of Grow Native Massachusetts. She will present an overview of the role of native plants in the ecosystem health, starting with the concept of co-evolution between plants and animals, and ending with a photographic tour of her 7,000 sq. ft. garden in Cambridge. Learn how your garden can make the world a better place!

Lisa will cover cultural ceremonies from China to Japan. You will learn to create and develop your own ceremonial style incorporating tea, equipage, and the fruits of your own garden bounty. You will gain perspective, and a new view into the world of teas and botanicals.

July 11       Tour of the Acton Arboretum Herb Garden
Come celebrate summer by touring the Herb Garden. This garden, which has been maintained by the club for 30 years, is primarily a culinary and medicinal garden inspired by Colonial herb gardens of the 1800’s. Tagged plants with a brief guide to their uses will be provided along with light, herbal themed refreshments. Meet at the Herb Garden at the Arboretum. Wear comfortable and weather appropriate garb.
