The Acton Garden Club was founded almost 85 years ago. The object of the Club was, and remains, ‘to promote a greater interest in gardening, and to exchange experiences that shall be of mutual benefit to its members.’
Eighty-five years later the club’s goals are:
To provide opportunities for learning in the areas of horticulture, floral design, landscape design, and environmental issues
To promote civic beauty with seasonal plantings throughout the Town, to maintain the historic gardens, and to promote well-being through garden therapy.
To encourage study in the environmental sciences by awarding scholarships and educational grants
To respond to requests by local community agencies for floral arrangements, financial assistance, or volunteers to help with civic projects.
The Club presents six educational programs each year that are open to the public in the months of September, October, November, February, March, and May. We welcome guests.
