The CDC has reported that there are more than 300,000 NEW cases of
Lyme Disease annually in the US and that the Lyme Disease tests, which
are more than 35 years old, were developed only for surveillance purposes
but are now used to diagnose the disease. A Massachusetts Bill passed
in July 2016 mandates medical coverage for longer use of antibiotics for
persistent Lyme Disease by insurance companies.
To keep deer from your yard, try Irish Spring Soap put out in early
spring to change their pathway. They are creatures of habit and will return
for more. Try milorganite, too, for the smell and fertilize your plants at
the same time. Eco-Smart, an FDA approved food grade level product
and tick tubes, with permethrin treated cotton, can help to eliminate
ticks. Instead of using Deet, buy or make personal sprays with 100% essential
oils such as Rose Geranium Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Lemongrass Oil,
Tea Tree Oil. There are many recipes. Some can be used around children
and pets. Permethrin treated clothing kills ticks.
FREE TICK TESTING is now available at bayarealymefoundation.org/
ticktesting for anyone in the United States.
