The Acton Garden Club holds its Annual Plant Sale on the third Saturday, in May each
year, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm rain or shine on the grounds of the “Red House” at
468 Main Street, Acton, MA.
We recommend customers come early for the best selections of Annuals,
Perennials, Native Plants, House Plants and locally grown herbs, vegetables, shrubs, and trees.
We emphasize the sale of “Local” plants, approximately 2,000 of which are dug and
donated from the gardens of Club members. Plants are also dug from the Club-maintained town gardens. Annuals, vegetables and pollinator plants are purchased through several local farms: Cucurbit Farm in Acton, Brigham Farm Stands and Greenhouses in Concord and Farms in Stow.
Customers can take advantage of our Master Gardeners for answers to all their
gardening questions and visit our Resource Table for information on topics ranging
from Ticks, Garlic Mustard and Managing Invasive to Natives, Gardening Tips and
Membership.
We have wagons available for you to collect your purchases and a holding area to hold
the plants you have selected while you go back for more. Credit cards are accepted for
payment.
The Annual Plant Sale is the primary fundraiser for the Acton Garden Club. Proceeds of the Plant Sale support our community, through scholarships for
graduating ABHS seniors, maintenance of town gardens and planters, and educational programs for the community and club members.
The Annual Plant Sale is an all-hands-on-deck, Club-wide, total membership event
where every volunteer, including the children and spouses of club members, are needed
and appreciated. Digging, potting, sorting, pricing, watering, selling, cashiering, setting
up and cleaning up require countless hours by our dedicated members. This is when
the Acton Garden Club shines at its best.
